We were selected for this cavernous build after the client shortlisted and carefully qualified nine potential commercial and industrial builders.
The finished build resulted in a Master Builders QLD State Award for J & B Projects.
Structural integrity and clearly understanding the detail from the structural engineer, is critical on project of this scale. A first class standard was achieved.
The building is a total of 2700 m2, with a 50 x 50 m warehouse area, two loading dock bays, large mezzanine floor area and two levels of office space. The main warehouse roof consists of structural steel trusses that span 50 m, providing a cavernous work space with no supporting columns.
The structural engineering for the ground slabs was very involved, incorporating “Danley” armour joints in 6 x 6m bays. This has provided a warehouse floor that will stand up to any punishment.
I am glad to report that both myself and our tenant, Australian Air Express, are extremely happy with the design and construction of our new building thanks to commercial builder, Brad. AAE’s property manager went as far as saying it was “the best finish he had seen for a very long time”. We couldn’t have asked for more than that!
I admire your tenacity as we have had the wettest period in the last thirty years and yet you have delivered the project on time and to an excellent standard. My thanks to you and your team.
